Japan's Ministry of the Environment Opens Registration for Green Finance Supporters

The Ministry of the Environment has launched a new initiative to boost green finance in Japan. As part of this effort, the ministry is now accepting applications for the FY 2024 Green Finance Supporters Program. This program aims to support businesses in raising funds through green finance mechanisms such as green bonds and sustainability-linked loans.

The initiative is designed to enhance Japan's green finance infrastructure by certifying supporters who assist companies in obtaining third-party evaluations and developing frameworks needed for green financing. These certified supporters will also be eligible for subsidies under the ministry's Market Infrastructure Development Support Project.

Application Period:

From May 10, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
