Japan introduces a decade-long Space Strategy Fund.
Japan has launched a Space Strategy Fund at JAXA, aimed at invigorating space technology research and development over the next decade. Governed by a coalition of four ministries and spearheaded by the Cabinet Office, this initiative supports private enterprises and academic institutions in pursuing bold, multi-year research projects. The program is structured around three goals: expanding the market for space-related services, using space to address global and social challenges, and enhancing fundamental technological strength in space exploration. This strategic fund reflects Japan's ambitious blueprint to position itself as a leader in the global space industry.
