Tohoku University's Aobayama campus in Sendai has recently inaugurated "Nano Terrace," a state-of-the-art synchrotron light facility designed to explore the nanoworld. This large microscope enables observations at the nanometer scale, promising advancements in new materials and pharmaceuticals. To promote its utilization, Sendai City has introduced support grants and free expert consultations, aimed at enhancing local SMEs' product quality and competitiveness. Additionally, Miyagi Prefecture offers fee reductions for local and non-local businesses using Nano Terrace, highlighting the facility's expected significant impact on both academic and industrial sectors in Japan.
