Tokyo Launches Awards for Tech Solutions to Social Issues

This new initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of such technologies and foster collaborations that enhance the city's problem-solving capabilities.

The award seeks solutions that:

1)Utilize advanced digital technologies such as AI, XR, and the metaverse.

2)Address social issues identified by the Tokyo government.

3)Are either already on the market or scheduled for launch in Japan by March 2025.

Eligibility

1)Tokyo-based SMEs, individual entrepreneurs, or groups thereof.

2)Applicants must be primarily responsible for planning and developing the solution, holding the necessary intellectual property rights and decision-making authority for its business use.

Awards and Prizes

Grand Prize: ¥3,000,000 (1 company)

Excellence Award: ¥1,500,000 (2 companies)

Encouragement Award: ¥500,000 (6 companies)

Special Technology Award: ¥500,000 (2 companies)

Winners will receive

1)Expert and business matching support to promote their solutions.

2)Free exhibition opportunities at "TOKYO XR・Metaverse & Contents Business World."

3)Publicity support through the program's website and other channels.
